Shipping a car hood is not an easy thing to do with traditional transport companies. They would require the hood to be crated and would charge much more. The shipper would have charged me $150 to crate it. uShip helped me find a small shipper that didn't require crating plus significantly under cut traditional transport companies, saving me over $400.
